From Striving to Surrender
In this episode, Bernhard and Laura explore the relationship between personal will and Divine Will.
Aligning the personal will with the higher will is one of the most important transitions on the spiritual path. It changes how we act, how we choose, how we respond to life, how we meet challenges, and how we begin to sense a higher force that guides us beyond our personal desires and preferences.
In Part 1, we look at personal will: what it is, how it operates, and why it eventually reaches its limits. We also explore the crisis of personal will, the different aspects of will, why free will at the level of the personal ego is only relatively real and mostly an illusion, how the attention economy, technology, and social media weaken our will, and what to do about it.
In Part 2, we go deeper into spiritual will, surrender, and Divine Will. We explore why psycho-spiritual work requires engaging the spiritual will, what true surrender actually means, why it requires active participation rather than passivity, how the personal will can become an instrument of Divine Will, and why alignment with the Divine does not mean that life becomes free of challenges, interference, or resistance.
