Sync for Genes, www.healthit.gov/topic/sync-genes, aims to standardize the sharing of genomic information among laboratories, providers, patients, and researchers. The project advances the development and use of industry-supported standards for the sharing and integration of genomic information in a consistent and usable way, such as via the Health Level 7 International® (HL7®) Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources® (FHIR®) standard.
