Significant Crossroads

Oh my goodness. Where do I start? The events of the past couple of days have been nothing short of horrific. September 10th, the day that Charlie Kirk was assassinated, is a watershed moment here in America.

I really didn’t know much about Charlie Kirk. I thought he was just another podcaster. Of course, now we all know who he is. We know that he had tremendous political influence. I had no idea that he had such an enormous impact in enacting his mission – especially in colleges and universities.

But here’s the scary part – That last paragraph I just wrote? That would be enough for some people to say that I ‘sound’ like I agree with him, therefore I must be as ‘bad’ as him. Even though I don’t have the slightest idea about what his literal message was. All I know is that apparently he believed that the way to resolve political differences was to simply discuss ideas in a civilized, respectful way.

So what exactly is wrong with that???

Well, apparently everything is wrong with that, which is why I guess he was killed.

I was thinking about how we all get so focused on censorship by social media companies. Which is a real thing that I in no way mean to diminish! But we are also censored by roving bands of some pretty violent people. We are censored with horrible name calling, violence, and now it appears that death is on the table, too.

The controllers of this planet have done every conceivable thing to divide us into warring factions and political groups. I think they want to see violence because that way they can shut everybody down.

Unfortunately, here’s what I think they have been successful at: Putting all of the nuances aside, I think the world as a whole has been divided into two main groups. Those who want to live peaceful, loving, abundant lives where everyone is somewhat reasonable, and those who want violence, death, and destruction.

I do not know what the solution is. But I do believe we are at a significant crossroads. And many people are feeling really angry about turning the other cheek in the face of constant abuse. And now that murder is on the table and being publicly advocated for by these roving bands, we are living on a knife’s edge for the possibility of something really bad happening.

I am usually pretty good at spotting trajectories that indicate where things are going. But in this case, I truly do not know.

So here are my thoughts for the moment…

The people in power have the same old, tired rhetoric. It’s all very lame, and leads to no resolutions whatsoever. Oh, by the way, did you hear what the Governor of Utah said we all needed to be doing (in his most condescending voice)? We need to turn off our phones! That’s right. Just turn off your phones, little people. That way you won’t be exposed to things that get you upset.

Now I promised myself that I would not turn this email into a rant. I guess I’m sort of succeeding – Lol!

I think the people in charge need to visibly demonstrate that they are actually doing something effective about this problem. And they need to do it quickly. They need to stop saying how great they are, and show that they are actually, demonstrably serious. Because if they don’t, and there is another political murder, I fear that all hell is going to break loose.

And both sides have a lot of guns

All it’s going to take is one more incident to completely destroy any remaining trust in government. I think the battle lines are being drawn right now.

We have the violent side who is openly celebrating Charlie Kirk’s assassination, and are feeling emboldened by it. They are openly calling for more bloodshed.

And then we have the other side who has stood down for years, hoping that there was a better way. And now that side has apparently had enough. There has been a sea-change in that side of the collective.

So the fuse has been lit. And we better all pray that something intervenes to stop what people fear might come next.

Because the politicians and their ilk are pathetic. I’m not sure they fully understand what is happening here. They have gotten away with so much for so long, that they are basically unconscious to the rest of us.

I was listening to an astrologer who said that the last time the planets were aligned in this way, the US had the civil war. Yikes! Let’s not visit that chapter again

So overall, my advice is the same as always. Stay conscious and keep your inner peace intact. Remember that you are on a cosmic path of evolution. Earth is a tiny planet. And your journey is much, much larger.

If you find yourself feeling confused, stressed, fearful, or unsettled, step away from whatever you’re doing. Intend to restore your peace. Do something with your hands that does not involve a screen. Walk barefoot outside in the grass and visit with the trees. Make a cup of calming tea, and relax for 5 minutes in a comfy chair to soothe your nervous system.

Look around at the physical world, and notice how much you can be grateful for.
