SheerWind, Inc., innovator in high-performance, cost-efficient wind energy, has created the next generation of mega wind producing technology – without the mega size. The company’s patented INVELOX system offers power capacity of 25 megawatts, four times the output of the largest offshore wind turbines and six times the capacity of the largest onshore towers.
With a 12 m/s free stream wind rating, a single INVELOX tower can power nearly 25,000 U.S. homes at a fraction of the size and cost of traditional wind turbines.

Prototypes were tested under controlled laboratory conditions, and test results were used to build and validate full-scale computational fluid dynamic models. Field data collected to date has validated results.
The technology requires no subsidies, is price competitive with traditional energy, and has far less environmental impact than turbine-topped towers.
“This is just the beginning,” says Lesher. “INVELOX – and the even larger-capacity systems we plan to create – will change the course of wind power generation.”
Czech University of Life Sciences to begin research on new wind turbine technology
Research scientist from the Faculty of Environmental Sciences (FES) at the Czech University of Life Sciences (CULS) are beginning an exciting new collaboration with SheerWind, Inc., the developer of a new alternative to the traditional wind turbine.
